  • Jam Filled Ottawa is looking for a highly skilled, 2D Layout Artist, for a new prime time, feature quality animated series.

     Job Responsibilities: (may include but are not limited to)

    • Be primarily responsible for translating panels from storyboards to layouts that will serve as the production backgrounds
    • Be responsible for both layout and camera framing/movement on the production as well as maintaining continuity across sequences
    • Collaborate with the production’s Director and/or Art Director, and the Layout Supervisor

    Our Toronto Studio is looking for a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for collaborating with employees from all departments including facilities and production engineering to help solve top level technology issues that impact specific productions and/or the overall productivity of the Jam Filled Studios.

    The Systems Engineer helps build, monitor and maintain various systems to help increase up-time and performance of infrastructure equipment, increase insight into systems and services, and help improve the overall productivity of various workflows through the production facility.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage, maintain and help improve various infrastructure related systems.
    • Manage, maintain and help improve various infrastructure monitoring applications.
    • Manage, maintain and help improve automation scripts.
    • Work with various departments to find new areas for increased productivity and/or automation
    • Research and testing of new technologies for improving infrastructure

    Jam Filled Toronto is looking for a Producer who will coordinate the efforts of the creative leadership of artists and production staff.  This role is a unique opportunity to be a part of this feature quality series combining CG & 2D elements with a look that has never been done before. This role creates and executes the overall strategy and production plan, and oversees the master schedule.  The Producer contributes to the development and improvement of the production workflow.  This role is also the primary liaison between the crew and the client.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver the highest quality production on time and budget, motivating and creating an environment conducive to achieving quotas and artistic achievements
    • Coordinate the efforts of a team of artists and production staff with assistance from Production Manager, starting in pre-production through the delivery of the final product
    • Manage and ensure that pipeline development and asset development is on track
    • Create and implement a complexity review process and strategy to be used in production
    • Monitor productivity levels in each production department and review individual artist productivity with appropriate department leadership
    • Oversee resource and time management of production crew and artistic talent
    • Using data provided by the Production Support Team, look well ahead to ensure that weekly quotas, individual department milestones, and inventory expectations are met
    • Strategize with Production Support Team and Senior Management to resolve any production and/or inventory issues

    Our Toronto Studio is looking for a Production Manager who responsible for managing a project on a big picture level and for providing extensive support and guidance to more junior team members to ensure a smooth and successful production.

    Responsibilities

    You’ll get to:

    • Support Producer in coordinating the efforts of a team of production staff and artists, starting in pre-production through the delivery of the final project
    • Work with Producer and other Production Staff to ensure that overall production scheduling and budget requirements are met within assigned department(s) and that production staff are working within established workflow and toolset
    • Look ahead to ensure that weekly quotas, department milestones and inventory expectations will be met
    • Assist in the resolution of any production and/or inventory issues and assist in managing any related impact on the budget, schedule and overtime, and flag issues to the Producer

    • Perform frequent walk-arounds to check in with crew, and ensure resolution of any issues that arise

    • Represent all departments in weekly executive production meetings
    • Act as champion of the project to crew, with a positive, approachable demeanor and attitude

    Qualifications

    • Solid understanding of CG Animation or Visual Effects production
